Find Trusted Solar Installers Near You
Australia has some of the highest solar uptake in the world. CEC-accredited solar installers can help you access federal STCs and state-based rebates, design the right system for your roof and energy needs, and connect battery storage for maximum self-consumption.
What Solar Installers Do
Licence Requirement
Solar installers must hold a state electrical licence AND CEC Solar PV Accreditation. CEC accreditation is required to install systems eligible for STCs and most state rebates.

Common Questions About Solar Installers
How much do solar panels cost in Australia in 2026?
A quality 6.6kW solar system (the most popular residential size) costs $5,000–$9,000 fully installed after the federal STC rebate. A 10kW system costs $8,000–$14,000. Adding a 10kWh battery (e.g. Tesla Powerwall or BYD) adds $8,000–$14,000 to the system cost.
How long does solar installation take?
Most residential solar installations take 1–2 days to physically install. Grid connection approval from your network provider takes 1–8 weeks depending on your state and network. Your installer should manage the grid connection application for you.
What is the STC rebate and how does it work?
Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) are a federal government incentive. Your installer creates STCs on your behalf and deducts their value from your system cost — you see this as an upfront discount. The number of STCs depends on system size and your location's solar zone. This rebate is phased down by one-fifteenth each year until 2031.
